The Wholeness Audit
Where your mission meets Monday morning.
Most schools have a mission and vision worth believing in. And a daily reality that quietly contradicts it. This friction shows up in the teacher who came into education with a sense of calling and now feels like a delivery mechanism. In the student whose natural curiosity has curdled into grade anxiety. In the leader who genuinely cares about wellbeing but hasn’t touched the assessment culture producing the burnout.
The Wholeness Audit names this gap — and begins to close it. The CEFL Lab — Open to emergent futures
Most schools prepare students for a future that has already been decided. The curriculum points toward it. The assessment culture reinforces it. The language of success — grades, universities, careers — draws a map with only one destination marked on it.
The CEFL Lab does not replace that map. It asks whether it is the only map available.
In this immersive experience, students, teachers and/or school leaders work through two movements that belong together: Critical Economic Literacy — the recovery of sight of the economic stories running underneath schools — and Futures Literacy — the capacity to imagine genuinely different futures rather than variations on the one already assumed. Together, they produce something neither achieves alone: the ability to see the present’s hidden architecture and the imagination to ask what else could be built.
Participants surface the economic assumptions quietly shaping reality — about what success means, what students are for, what the future holds. They examine those assumptions honestly. And then, in the second movement, they do something most professional development never permits: they imagine beyond them with the disciplined, structured practice of Futures Literacy — the skill of using the future to see the present differently.
What participants leave with: Disrupted assumptions. Reframed possibilities. And a concrete, specific answer to the question: what is one thing I will do differently next week?
